Rules of Play
1. The goal of the game is to assemble the best possible standard poker hand using cards earned by bringing receipts from Delta County Businesses into the Chamber of Commerce for verification.
2.Players are given one playing card from a multi-deck shoe for every $100 worth of receipts that they bring in. There is no limit on the total amount of receipts that players may bring in, however there is a limit of 5 cards that may be received for any given receipt. When turning in receipts, players will be required to complete a form detailing what store the receipts came from as well as the number of receipts and the total spent at each store. These forms will be available at the Chamber of Commerce and at deltami.org.
3. When selecting cards, a player who has accumulated $500 worth of receipts will be given their initial five cards. After that the players may discard as many cards as desired and receive new cards, Players may only retain five cards at a time and can exchange cards until their stockpile of earned cards is depleted or they have achieved a satisfactory hand. The hand must adhere to the rules of standard poker. That is to say that all cards of the same value must be of different suits. There are no jokers in play. There are no five-of-a-kinds. The top possible hand is the Royal Flush. For a list of poker hand rankings, you can go to www.cardplayer.com/rules-of-poker/hand-rankings
4. Once a player has depleted their draws or has decided they are happy with their hand, their hand will be recorded, and all cards will be returned to the card box. Any remaining draws that are not used during the visit in which they were earned are void once the player leaves the building.
5. Once a player’s hand has been recorded, they will be allowed to return at anytime, up to the last day of the contest, and turn in more receipts to receive more draws to improve their hand.
6. While it is di cult for us to enforce, collecting the receipts of customers in a place you work, own or frequent is not in the spirit of the contest and is discouraged. Don’t be a Grinch.
7. The top prize for winning the contest is $1000 in cash. Any ties will be resolved by a random drawing. Cash prize for the best hand will be selected on January 5!
8. The contest will begin on November 25, 2025, and end on December 25, 2025. Only receipts dated on or between those two dates are valid for this contest. All receipts must be brought into the Chamber of Commerce by end of business on December 29, 2025.
9. By participating in the contest, you are giving permission for the Chamber to use your name and image in announcements regarding the contest.
10. Any disputes or issues arising that are not covered in these rules will be resolved at the discretion of the Chamber. Contestants shall hold harmless all contest sponsors from any and all claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from participation in this contest.
